About the Founder

Scott has spent nearly three decades in the beverage alcohol industry, working across every level of the business—from bars and restaurants to distributors and supplier-side roles.

Over the course of his career, he has partnered with a number of leading independent brands, most notably eight years managing the Western U.S. for Compass Box Whisky Co. His experience has been built in the field—working directly with buyers and accounts—rather than from behind a desk. Through this hands-on approach, he has developed a deep network of friends, colleagues, and industry contacts, along with a clear understanding of how small, quality-driven brands can successfully compete in a marketplace dominated by large, multinational players.

Scott has always been passionate about supporting producers who lead with integrity and craft. He founded Nextwave Beverages to help bring exceptional spirits to the California market and to work shoulder-to-shoulder with those brands as they grow their presence and consumer awareness.

He also proudly serves as a longtime judge for the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a role he’s held since 2016, and has presented at the annual awards ceremony every year since it began.
